Adding Members Downloads

If you would like to add downloadable files for your affiliates in the members area, just follow these steps:

  1. First, you must make sure the the Downloads Folder in the Settings > Global Configuration > Media > Downloads Settings is correct. That is the path where your downloadable files will be stored. *Tip: You should set that folder path to be outside of your web files so that it will be secure from the public.
  2. Click on Content > Manage Downloads on the menu of your affiliate admin area.
  3. This page will list all of your current downloads.
  4. To add new downloadable content, click on the Add Download button.
  5. The Add Download window appears. Enter the following:
    • Status - Set the download as active / inactive
    • Download Name - The name for your download
    • Description - Description of your download
    • Restrict To Group - If you only want specific set of users to see this download, select their affiliate group here.
    • Download Location 1 -10 - You can upload up to 10 different files for each download set. This can be useful if you have a number of different PDF files you want to give out for each type of download. Just click on the Choose File / Upload button to upload them all. You can also specify the full download path if you want via the Download Location 1- 10 fields.
  6. Click Save Changes to save.
  7. Your downloable content will now show up in the members area download section.

If you have downloadable files that are large in size, you may want to adjust the PHP upload settings in Settings > Global Configuration > Media > Downloads Settings. If your uploads are failing, you will have to edit the Upload File Size and Execution Time settings there.
